  • Location: Fitzroy Island, Queensland

Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, located here at Fitzroy Island (CTRC) is a volunteer operated, non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. The Great Barrier Reef is home to six of the world’s seven species of marine turtles. A number of these are seriously threatened by a diverse range of natural and, more significantly, human induced factors.

Our daily tours to CTRC allow people to learn about not only the history of the organization but also the journey to recovery that injured or sick turtles undergo whilst at the Centre. Hear about some of the success stories of past patients who have been released.
