Take part in our Marine Conservation Program on Fitzroy Island and assist our team and two non for profit organisations, the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre & Reef Restoration Foundation. Contribute to the preservation, protection and rehabilitation of fragile marine ecosystems and threatened marine species of the Great Barrier Reef.

FARES Children: 16+ years
INCLUDES
- Helping with the care of turtles at the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC), including behind the scenes tour with the CTRC team leader.
- Provide CTRC with vital information on sea turtle population. Have the chance to name a sea turtle, if they haven’t been identified yet.
- Support the work of Reef Restoration Foundation with removal of drupella (coral eating snail).
- Contribute to monitoring of the reef with Eye on the Reef program by Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA)
- Lunch, refreshments and snorkel gear.
DURATION 9am to 4pm – 7 hours
BOARDING INSTRUCTIONS Please meet at the Fitzroy Island Sports Hub (FISH) on Fitzroy Island at 9 am, located next to the Resort Pool.
REQUIREMENTS
- What to bring: Water bottle & sun protection – hat, sunglasses & sunscreen. Swimwear and towel.
- Transfers to and from Fitzroy Island are NOT included. Please ensure you have booked your transfers separately at an additional cost.
- Both Resort Guests and Day Trip Guests are welcome.
- Minimum capacity of 2 people per program.
